At The Wild Flower Handmade Jewellery, we create unique woven handmade macrame jewellery! By using macrame and micro macrame techniques, combined with the use of crystals and gemstones of all types, shapes, colours and sizes is how we come about our beautiful creations. Our stones come from literally everywhere in the world, and our waxed macrame threads from Brazil. We love receiving customised and personalised macrame creations orders, we aim to create the jewellery you have pictured in your mind, that you can never find. The Wild Flower Story
I have learned the art of macrame through people I've met throughout all the different countries I've been to, by sharing, learning and teaching also sometimes, with others. Years later, with experience, deeper knowledge and better skills, The Wild Flower was born. I am now creating beautiful handmade macrame jewellery using Linhasita waxed macrame cords from Brazil as well as crystals and gemstones from all around the world.
So what exactly is macrame?
Macrame is the art of tying knots in patterns. The origin of Macramé is generally attributed to Arabic weavers during the 13th century, using decorative knots to finish the loose ends of hand-woven textiles. After the Moorish conquest, the art was taken to Spain, then to Italy, especially in the region of Liguria, and then spread through Europe. However, decorative knot-tying can also be traced back to third-century China on ceremonial textiles as well as wall hangings.
Why crystals?
I have been mesmerised by crystals and gemstones for as long as I can remember. I find them so very special and intriguing; they are all unique, can be found everywhere around in the world and in the most surprising places too, and are some of the most beautiful treasures this earth has to offer. Crystals and gemstones are full of energy of all kinds, they have their own properties and characters, they love the sun and being surrounded by love, and are just super friendly and comforting.
You have to know, crystals are considered alive being, just like plants, as they grow from nothing and keep growing until the hands of men cut them. Just keep that in mind next time you hold one of these amazing beauties of nature.
